Get Involved!

Try Woodworking in the Woodshop

One of the many things that sets Maple Knoll Village apart from other retirement communities is our fully equipped Wood Shop for residents!

The MKV Wood Shop has it all – hand powered tools and machinery, work benches, handicap accessible work stations, etc. all in an air conditioned and dust controlled environment.

While some items built by residents in the Wood Shop are for personal enjoyment, others are for the benefit of Maple Knoll Village such as picnic tables for our Child Center, pamphlet holders for the Arboretum, a cubby shelf for the Wellness Center, and the list goes on!

Attend Planned Activities and Outings

Each level of care at Maple Knoll Village has trained Activity staff dedicated to ensuring our residents live their lives to the fullest. This can be seen through various planned social, cultural, and educational programs.

One of the most popular activities offered is the weekly “Wine ‘n Words” happy our. Residents come together to enjoy food, drinks, socialization, and even meet new people. Frequent opportunities to enjoy life outside of Maple Knoll Village are often offered by visiting the Cincinnati Zoo, attending Reds games, exploring area museums, or enjoying a morning at the Symphony.

Volunteer at the Montessori Child Center

Another unique offering at Maple Knoll Village is the Intergenerational Program with the Maple Knoll Montessori Child Center. Located on the Maple Knoll Village campus, the Child Center is available to children ranging from 3 to 6 years of age.

The Intergenerational Program allows students and residents to engage in fun and meaningful activities together. Maple Knoll Village residents share their skills, experiences, and talents in a way that fuels the students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development.

Take a Stroll Through the Arboretum

The newly accredited Level 1 Maple Knoll Village Arboretum is located on the 54-acre Maple Knoll Village campus. So far, 55 species of trees have been identified throughout the Arboretum. The accreditation efforts were led by The Maple Knoll Tree Committee and acknowledges Maple Knoll’s achievement of high standards of professional practices deemed important for arboreta and botanic gardens. The mission of the Maple Knoll Tree Committee is to create an awareness of trees and plant life for learning and enjoyment on the Maple Knoll Village campus.

This lovely park-like area encompasses gazebos, sculptures, winding walkways, and benches for the enjoyment of residents and the public.

The newly renovated Auditorium is a central hub in our community hosting events ranging from 10-150 people in attendance. This includes everything from internal activities, community events, musical performances, private gatherings, and more.

An updated technology system allows for live-streaming of performances for residents in all levels of care to enjoy via our internal TV channel.

Join a committee or club

At Maple Knoll Village, we believe that the best way to improve community life for our residents is by listening to the residents themselves. Residents have the opportunity to be involved in the Resident’s Council. This council is comprised of various committees focused on dining, safety, technology, hospitality, and activities. Residents work with staff in these committees to provide suggestions to improve campus life. These suggestions are reviewed monthly and passed onto administration.

Residents also have the opportunity to join various independent clubs on campus such as writing club, drama club, book club, bible study, golf scramble, the community garden club, and much more!
